HIV/AIDS COORDINATING UNIT:

The HIV Life Skills Programme
was designed to help adolescent
residents of the Cyril Ross Nursery
approach their young adult life with
an awareness of their own state
of complete physical, mental and
social well-being. A
pproximately
16 children
benefited from this
programme.
Community mobilisation fairs
to
mainstream HIV/AIDS issues into
the Ministry’s programs/initiatives
were held in Cunupia, St. Joseph
and Tobago, in collaboration
with the Office of the Prime
Minister. Priority Area I focused
on Prevention.
Over 100 persons
attended the events.
Staff Sensitisation Seminars
for new staff members of the
MPSD continued to be held.
Approximately 21 new members
of staff benefited.
Increased aware-
ness of HIV/AIDS
among the target
group.
