DEFINING MASCULINE EXCELLENCE
PROGRAMME
This Programme has three distinct
components namely: Skills
Development, Leadership Training
and Community Awareness and
Sensitisation Education. The objectives
of the programme are to:
Foster and improve gender relations
between men and women
Reduce the incidence of domestic
and other forms of violence and
To encourage men to pursue
excellence
Poverty
Reduction
and Human
Capital
Development
Males 14 years
and over
Recipients of
Community
Based Training
and Education
For the period October 2012 to
September, 2013:
A total of
155 men were trained
during 4 cycles of the programme
as follows:
Cycle 1 -
80 men were trained
during the period late 2012 to early
2013;
Cycle 2 -
20 men were trained
at
the MGYCD during the period April
19 - July 5 2013;
Cycle 3 -
25 men were trained
at
the NALIS, Port of Spain during
the period July 8 to September 9,
2013; and
Cycle 4-
30 men trained
at the
San Fernando City Hall during the
period July 11 – September 12,
2013
