Radio Broadcasts
During the period October 2012
to June 2013,
approximately
26 episodes of the Ministry-
sponsored programme “Eye
on Dependency” were aired on
91.1FM
on Sundays from 10:00
am to 12 noon. The audience
were educated about drug related
issues and heard the life stories of
recovering addicts, their relatives
and friends as well as persons who
were incarcerated.
Information on key issues
pertaining to substance abuse was
also highlighted on SLAM Radio
100.5 FM.
NADAPP’s Drug Education Officer
facilitated the National Family
Services Division with its media
broadcasts every Monday from
1:00 p.m. The programme focused
on issues which impacted the
family.
Treatment and Rehabilitation
The aim of the initiative is to ensure
continuous access by drug dependent
individuals to treatment, rehabilitation
and social re-insertion services, as well
as to minimize the adverse health, social
and economic impact of drug depen-
dency on the population. It also aims to
ensure that minimum standards of care
are provided to the national population.

For the period October 2012 to June
2013,
approximately 239 clients
benefited from residential and non-
residential services provided by Se-
renity Place, Rebirth House, Helping
EveryAddict Live (H.E.A.L.) and the
OASIS rehabilitation centres. Ser-
vices provided included treatment,
rehabilitation and harm reduction.
APilot Project for the
Standardisation of Data Collection
fromDrug Treatment and
Rehabilitation Facilities (supported
by the Organisation of American
States/Inter-American Institute of
Drug Control - OAS/CICAD) was
completed.
Two officers from the NADAPP and
the National Drug Council participat-
ed in aWorkshop for Coordinators of
the Pilot fromMay 29 to 30, 2013.
