For fiscal 2013:
NADAPP participated in
four
workplace initiatives in various
organisations aimed at reducing
the use of drugs. A total of
261
persons
benefited from these
initiatives –
124 women and 137
men. This represented a 16%
increase from Fiscal 2012 where
218 persons benefited from
workplace initiatives.
Additionally, a total of
29 persons
- 8 men and 21 women
- from
governmental and NGOs benefited
from training scholarships to
attend the 39th Caribbean
Institute on Alcoholism and
other Drug Problems (CARIAD)
Basic and Specialised training
workshops. This total represents a
79% increase
over the number of
scholarships offered by NADAPP
last year – 6.
Amember of staff from the
Division participated in the OAS/
CICAD ‘Training and Certification
Programme (PROCCER)-
Caribbean’ Pilot Training for
Treatment and Rehabilitation. At
the meeting held from February
3rd to 9th, 2013 persons from
key local stakeholder agencies
were exposed to training aimed
at establishing a national core
team of trainers. A treatment
training manual was developed
and is expected to be launched in
September, 2013.
