Public Education and Information
Campaign
This initiative is geared to sensitise
and educate the national community,
specifically vulnerable groups on the
dangers of the use and misuse/abuse of
licit and illicit substances.
During the period support was
initiated for the airing of the
television programme “Moving
On”. The programme highlighted
the challenges of persons who
experienced personal drug related
problems and gave information
and hope to other vulnerable/at-
risk persons.
The NADAPP Jingle, “No Drugs
in Me” was produced and
copyrighted and a formal launch
was held on December 7th 2012.
In commemoration of ‘World No
Tobacco Day’ on May 31, 2013,
literature was delivered to
seven primary schools in the
St. Patrick Educational District.
Additionally, the Minister’s address
on the health risks associated with
tobacco was featured in two daily
newspapers.
In commemoration of the United
Nations’ International Day Against
Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
– June 26, 2013- NADAPP, in
collaboration with the National
Drug Council, held several public
sensitisation initiatives including:
a Walk, run, crawl race; a treasure
hunt and healthy lifestyles
promotion.
Support was also provided for the
Rebirth House Sports and Family
Day.
