Transportation
102.
The Ministry of Transport has been awarded $1.7 million for the purchase of an
Incinerator and a Runway Sweeper at the ANR Robinson International Airport for fiscal year
2014. Additionally, the Vehicle Management Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (VMCOTT)o
will utilise $1 million to begin construction of a facility in Tobago.
103.
In the area of Sea Transport the Tobago House of Assembly will receive an allocation of
$6 million to continue works on the following jetties:
•
Jetty at Studley Park - $2 million will be provided for the construction of an offshore
break for safe anchorage of barges.
•
Jetty at Charlotteville - $3 million will be provided for the extension of the Jetty to
provide better landing facilities for fishermen, cruise ships visitors and operators of
pleasure craft.
•
Jetty at Cove and Plymouth - $1 million will be provided to carry out feasibility
studies.
Drainage
104.
An investment of $31.5 million has been made to improve the drainage and irrigation
infrastructure in Tobago.
105.
The sum of $1.5 million has been provided for the continuation of coastal protection
works including piling along the Old Milford Road at Shaw Park. Construction of box drains,
retaining walls and river embankment work will also continue at Carnbee Main Drain, Plymouth
Road and Darrel Spring Drain
