Water Security

The Water and Sewerage Authority will focus attention on improvement of its water
supply to customers in Tobago. Funding in the amount of $15 million will be provided for the
collective replacement of 28.7 km of oversized and/or leaking distribution pipelines. Areas to
benefit include Sangsters Hill, Buccoo, Montgommery and Bon Accord. An additional $10
million will also facilitate the replacement of approximately 39 km of distribution pipelines in
areas of Pembroke, Bacolet Gardens, Storebay, Culloden, Studley Park, Plantation, Carnbee,
Glen Rd and Mason Hall. The desilting and rehabilitation of the Hillsborough Dam in Tobago
has been provided with the sum of $3.8 million to commence dredging and excavation works.
Sewerage

In Tobago, works related to the rehabilitation of the Scarborough Wastewater Treatment
Plant and the South West Sewerage upgrade will also be pursued by the Water and Sewerage
Authority with funding of $3 million and $10 million respectively.
Roads and Bridges
101.
The THA has been provided with an allocation of $83.5 million to continue projects as
follows:
•
upgrade and paving of the roadway, and repairs to the bridge on the
Roxborough/Bloody Bay Road
•
upgrade of roadway and the widening of 2 bridges to accommodate Public Transport
Service Corporation (PTSC) buses on Orange Hill Road
•
complete upgrade and development of link road between Patience Hill and Plymouth
Road
