The THA will receive resources totalling $10.5 million in fiscal 2014 towards the
continuation of projects and programmes geared towards improving products and services of the
tourism sector to enhance the attractions for the domestic and international tourist. These
improvements will include:
•
continued restoration works on the Guard Hut and Commissariat Stores at Fort King
George Heritage Park
•
restoration and improvements to beach facilities such as:
•
construction of Life Guard Towers and installation of security cameras at Store Bay
Beach Facility, Turtle Beach and Pigeon Point
•
construction of a ramp for senior citizens at Mt. Irvine Bay
•
landscaping at Fort Granby Beach Facility
•
construction of Visitor/User Facilities and installation of Picnic huts and Benches at
Bloody Bay Beach Facility, Nature Park and Lookout
•
construction of a sewer plant, car park and dining room at King’s Bay Beach Facility
•
development of the tourism product through
•
consultations for the Community Awareness Programme
•
assistance to traumatised visitors
•
development of a Tourism Regulatory and Legal Framework regarding a Tourism
Plant
•
conduct of a feasibility study of the Historical Site – Cove Estate
•
provision of island wide signage for villages and historical sites, air and sea ports
and the rainforest
•
purchase of a commercial vehicle and continued building works for the TTHTI
