POLICE YOUTH CLUBS
The Police Youth Clubs aim to:
Promote a feeling of nationalism
amongst the youths of the nation.
•
Encourage the youths of the nation
to participate fully in the physical,
cultural, sporting, educational and
spiritual aspects of self and national
development.
•
Prepare youths for a positive role in
the nation’s development.
•
Provide an effective machinery
through which youths would be
appreciative of the value of good
discipline, self-respect and respect
for others.
•

Programmes
to Prevent
Crime
For the period October 2012 to
March 2013 a
total of 654 persons
benefited from programmes
undertaken by the Barrackpore, Las
Lomas and St. Mary’s Village Police
Youth Clubs.
Some of the initiatives included:
•
Parenting workshops for young
mothers in the Las Lomas area;
Crime prevention workshops;
•
Hosting of an academic
programme for primary school
students in the Las Lomas area,
to assist with writing, spelling
and grammatical skills. nd Essay
competition was held. nt rate in its
programmes;
•
Distribution of food hampers to
families and older persons in the
Barrackpore community, as well
as facilitating a home work centre
for youth. t social issues such as
bullying and sexual abuse.
