Senior Citizens’ Pension
The Senior Citizens’ Pension provides
financial assistance to persons aged
65 and over whose income does not
exceed TTD 3,000 a month and who
meet the other qualifying criteria for the
grant

Citizens
As at September 2013, there were
82,509 senior citizens
in receipt
of the Senior Citizens’ Pension. Of
this total,
6,756 persons were new
applicants.

Disability Assistance Grant
This grant of TTD 1,500.00 is provided
to applicants who are deemed by a
government medical practitioner to be
unfit to work due to a physical disability.
Persons
18-64 years
of age who
have been
certified by a
Government
medical officer
as being
permanently
disabled
and as a
consequence
unable to earn
a livelihood.
As at September 2013, Disability
Assistance Grants were disbursed to
a total of
24, 312 persons. Of this
total, 2,250 were registered as new
recipients.
