PROGRAMME
The National Social Development
Programme (NSDP) is a social
intervention strategy that was
established to provide assistance to
underserved/deprived citizens and
communities of Trinidad and Tobago in
the overall improvement in their quality
of life as it brings socio-economic relief
to vulnerable communities and families.
The NSDP was placed under the
portfolio of the Ministry of the People
and Social Development in July 2011.

Efficient households
and communities

Electrification of Households
This initiative provides electrification
for households throughout Trinidad and
Tobago.
As at June 2013,
380 households
benefited from this initiative.

Minor House Repair Assistance
This initiative provides persons with
materials and/or labour for roof repairs
and other minor structural repairs to
their homes.
For the period October 2012 to June
2013,
471 households
benefited from
minor house repair assistance.

Sanitary Plumbing Assistance
This initiative provides assistance
towards the purchase of materials
based on an assessment of individual
circumstances.
For the period October 2012 to June
2013,
471 households
received
sanitary plumbing assistance
