PROGRAMME (NUP)
There are three components to
this programme:- (1) Squatter
Regularisation and Upgrading, (2)
New Home and Home Improvement
Subsidy and (3) Sector and Institutional
Strengthening. Its overall aims are to:-

lower income groups

Make public expenditure for
housing more efficient and
equitable
•
Provide incentives and assist both
public and private institutions, in
their transition to more market-
driven roles

196 families
were furnished with
home improvement subsidies
through the Programme
Monitoring and Coordinating Unit
(PMCU)
•
The Ministry, working in
collaboration with the Land
Settlement Agency, Sugar
Industry and Labour Welfare
Committee and TTConnect,
assisted 1,745 families
