(CSP)
This programme was officially launched
by the Ministry of National Security in
2008.
The Citizen Security Programme aims:
To reduce the levels of homicides,
robberies and woundings in partner
communities.
To increase the perception of safety
in partner communities.
To reduce the incidence of crimes
related to (i) firearms, (ii) child
maltreatment, (iii) domestic
violence and (iv) youth violence in
partner communities.
To increase the collective efficacy
of partner communities to prevent
and treat with violence.

• 64 persons completed Violence
Prevention Training
24 NGOs and CBOs received
training or equipment
to improve
their institutional capacity.
525 residents participated
in Community Based Social
Interventions
(CBSIs) aimed at
reducing the risk factors for crime
and violence.
13 crime and violence initiatives
were implemented
in various
communities, in collaboration with
Government or CBO partners.
Other Achievements:
Community engagements were
conducted in 22 communities:
e.g. support for victims of crime,
mobilisation of community members
to develop and implement community
projects, as well as giving support to
Community Action Councils.
