The following are key projects proposed to be
undertaken by the EMA in fiscal 2014:
• Establishment of an Ambient Air Quality
Management Programme
• Establishment of an Inventory of Air and
Water Pollutants Sources in Trinidad and
Tobago
• Implementation of the Second phase of
“EMA and You” public campaign
• Implementation of a Public Education
Campaign to specifically inform about two
Environmentally Sensitive Species (ESS) –
the Ocelot and Golden Tree Frog
• Implementation of a Community Specific
Education and Outreach Programme to
increase knowledge and behavioral change
on environmental issues affecting the
country and society.
• Harmonisation of Laws of the Republic
of Trinidad and Tobago governmental
environmental issues
• Operate the EMA as a Model for Good
Environmental Practices
• Establishment
of
an
Environmental
Complaints Management System on-line
Complaint Management System (EOCMS)
• Capacity building in theCompliance Function
of the Authority for Development of an
Emergency Response Policy and Practice
(Hazardous Waste).

DEVELOPMENT
In fiscal 2014, the Ministry will implement the
following:

ERVICES
This initiative by the Ministry of Tobago
Development seeks to enhance the capacity
of NGOs to manage their affairs and to provide
efficient delivery of services to their publics.
Theanticipated initiativesunder thisprogramme
include:
• The formulation of policy regarding
engagement and support for NGO’s
• Provision of hardware and technical support
to build the capacity of the NGO’s
• Workshops for proposal writing for local and
international stakeholders
