Opening remarks
I would like to formally introduce myself
as the new Chairman of the Trinidad &
Tobago Unit Trust Corporation (UTC). My
appointment was effective January 1st
2013 and I succeeded Ms. Amoy Chang
Fong who has served as Chairman from
December 2004 to December 2012. Prior
to my appointment, I was a Managing
Director and Senior Advisor at Credit
Suisse in New York and from 1991-1995
I served as Finance Minister in the
Trinidad & Tobago government.
We at the UTC have always gone
above and beyond our call of duty as
the leading mutual fund company in
Trinidad & Tobago and in the Caribbean.
Offering a total of ten (10) mutual funds
that span the globe, the Unit Trust
Corporation is dedicated to delivering
strong global investment performance.
Against the backdrop of an uncertain
macroeconomic environment, the UTC
improved its performance, with nine out
of the ten funds surpassing the returns
achieved in the prior year.
