roads throughout the island. Secondary road improvements will also be a focus in 2014 through
the Road Infrastructure Improvement Programme.

The second priority area to garner large investment is Poverty Reduction and Human
Capital Development. Focus under this priority is placed in the construction and upgrading of
Community Facilities, the Housing and Settlements Expansion Programme, the Libraries
Programme and the Primary Schools Programme of Tobago.

Central Government Ministries have also been provided a cumulative allocation of
$131.2 million to be utilised in Tobago. This represents 26.5 percent of the Tobago’s total budget
of $494.3 million to implement projects and programmes in fiscal 2014. These will include:
Ministry of Tobago Development with a total of $11 million for construction of a
building for the Meteorological Services Division and the Maritime Monitoring
System
the sum of $20 million was allocated to the Ministry of Health for equipping the
Scarborough Hospital with a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Unit
the sum of $9.625 million for the Ministry of National Security to upgrade the Coast
Guard Facility, Regiment Facilities and T&T Defence Force Reserves Facility in
Tobago, construct of Detachment Headquarters and Dormitory at Camp Signal Hill
and the establish of a Coast Guard Base at Charlotteville
The sum of $28 million will be utilised by the Police Service of Trinidad and Tobago
for construction of Old Grange Police Station and Roxborough Police Station,
upgrade of the Scarborough Police Station and establishment of Canine Facilities in
Tobago
Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training received the sum of $5 million for
the UTT's Tobago Campus and Tobago Technology Centre
Judiciary with an allocation of $4 million for the rehabilitation of the Hall of Justice
and construction of Judges and Magistrates' Housing in Tobago
